How often should I review my credit file?

We believe it is very important to review all three of your personal credit files at least once a year. Remember credit fraud and identity theft are two of the biggest problems we are facing today. According to The Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act of 2003 section 3211 Free Consumers Reports paragraph (a) Free Annual Disclosure Subsection (1) paragraph (A) in general. All consumer reporting agencies shall once during any 12 month period upon request and without charge to the consumer receive a copy from all three consumer reporting agencies for purpose of identity theft. Subsection (2) timing. <<Note: deadline>> A consumer reporting agency shall provide a consumer report under subsection (1) no later than 15 days. This law is referred to as H.R. 2622.
